9th Annual Central American Youth Leadership Conference
.
Thank you for another year
On behalf of Homies Unidos, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your participation, support, and generous contribution to our 9th Annual Central American Youth Leadership Conference. Our keynote speaker was Assemblyman Mark Gonzalez who gave a heartfelt speak about the resilience of our immigrant youth experience and how brave they need to be in this time of crisis in our immigrant communities.
We had several schools called us to let us know that the students were too afraid to attend the conference, which we bring about 450 students every year. We took precautions with security and were able to have a successful event without any incident. We stand by our immigrant students as we see the continued devastation that the ICE raids is causing our immigrant community.
On Friday, May 30, 2025, we proudly welcomed 245 students, 15 workshops, and 22 resource partners to an inspiring day of learning, connection, and cultural celebration. This year’s conference, held at Los Angeles Trade-Tech College, centered around the powerful theme "Una Comunidad Sin Miedo" — A Community Without Fear. Highlights included a partnership with Pollo Campero, offering culturally resonant food that reminded students of home, and our annual mural painting, sponsored by L.A. vs. Hate, that reflected the richness, struggles, and aspirations of our communities.
